Stuart R. Frey

YORK – Stuart R. Frey, 90, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at his residence. He was the husband of Alice C. (Murphy) Frey to whom he was married for 49 years. 

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 15, 2024 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 11 N. Richland Ave., York, 17404, with Pastor Tanya Brubaker officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:30-11:00 AM at the church. York County Veterans Honor Guard will be performing military honors. 

Born September 29, 1934, he was the son of the late Raymond S. and Dollie G. (Orner) Frey. A few years after high school, Stuart joined the United States Army, where he served our country in Germany. For most of his working life, he was the owner of Frey’s Upholstery where he was very proud to be a furniture upholster. Outside of work, he was a member of Dover Twp. Fire Company, Dover Twp. Ambulance Club, and Lions Club. From a young age he learned to play golf and grew to find a passion in the game. When he wasn’t golfing or working, you could find him gardening beautiful flowers. 

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by three sons, Jeffrey N. Ohler, Bryan S. Frey, and Bradley A. Frey; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Louise J. Brown.
