Stewart L. Miller

MANCHESTER—Stewart L. Miller, 89, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of Betty J. (Gochenaur) Miller to whom he married December 1, 1951. A Graveside Tribute Service will be 11AM, Monday, June 29, 2020 at Prospect Hill Cemetery—York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. David W. Slautterback of Ambassadors Bible Chapel. Anyone planning on attending the graveside service should meet at the Pennsylvania Ave Entrance of the cemetery at 10:45AM. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born April 2, 1931 in Spry, he was a son of the late Richard E. Miller and Veletta R. (Bupp) Miller. He was employed as a warehouse supervisor with PA&S Small. Following his retirement, he spent his time farming. He was a life member of Ambassadors Bible Chapel. An avid hunter and farmer, he also was a member of the NRA, Royal Arcanum and served in the Army National Guard for 7 years. Mr. Miller is survived by three daughters, Sandra K. Dawson of York, Barbara A. Bare of Manchester and Wendy S. Simmons and husband, David of Mt. Wolf; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Gene Miller of Manchester; two sisters, Shirley McCurdy of Dover and Elaine Fisher of New Oxford and nieces and nephews.
