Born August 15, 1955 in York, a son of the late Charles L. and Gloria L. (Bacon) Trout; he was a 1973 graduate of Eastern York High School, earned his Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, and his Master’s degree in Business from Syracuse University. Steve had retired from Lancaster Fasteners, Ltd. In 2022. He was still active on the Board of Directors of Ameri Metro, Inc. and served as its Secretary/Treasurer. Mr. Trout was active with Windsor Lions Club where he was a two-time Past President and Asst. Secretary/Treasurer; Yorkana Gun Club; and was a founding member of the East York Jaycees. Steve was a member of Emmanuel Church of Windsor and the Penn State Alumni Assoc. He enjoyed playing poker, golfing, watching western movies starring John Wayne, and had mastered cooking on the grill and smoker. Steve was an avid sports fan and loved rooting on the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers, Penn State, and the NY Yankees.

On October 26, 1979, Steve and Shaheen met on a blind date set up by Steve's mother. Before meeting Shaheen, Steve had to have approval from Shaheen's mother, father, and brothers as she was 19. It was a customary Pakistani tradition to arrange a meeting beforehand. Steve took Shaheen to the drive-in movie theater and it was truly love at first sight. Less than a year later on her birthday, September 26th 1980, he asked her for her hand in marriage. They took a beautiful honeymoon together in Ocean City and later purchased their first home together in 1986 in Red Lion. Blessed with their first daughter, Amanda on Father's Day 1987, Steve and Shaheen had the American dream come true. Five years later, more blessings came into their life with their second daughter, Ashley in 1992. Now their family was complete. With each year, month, day, and minute; Steve and Shaheen’s love for each other continued to grow. They never missed an opportunity to show and tell each other how much they loved and appreciated one another. They would have been married for 42 years on June 26th, 2024. Steve and Shaheen’s love for each other is out of a fairy tale. A perfect example of what true love is.

In addition to his wife Shaheen, Mr. Trout is survived by two daughters, Amanda M. Trout and her fiancé Lester Parsons of York and Ashley L. Trout of York and her fiancé Chris Dorman of Hampstead, MD; Shelby Batson and husband Travis of Scurry, TX and Carter Bradley and wife Symphony of Columbus, OH whom Steve treated like his children; five grandchildren, Elias, Alayna, Ophelia, Rosalia, and soon to be born Oliver; a step granddaughter, Xyra; two brothers, Michael R. Trout of Manchester and Ryne J. and wife Shari Trout of York; two brothers-in-law, Shah Mathias of York and Chuck and wife Pam Mathias of Lancasters; a sister-in-law, Debra Mathias of York; eleven nieces and nephews; and close family friend, Jeff and Cindy Harrison and family. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Liam Trout; a sister-in-law, Lisa Trout; and his in-laws, Shamim and Gladys E. Mathias.
