YORK – Steven I. Gould, 67, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Diane M. (Snyder) Gould to whom he was married for 46 years. Born October 9, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Emanuel and Rachel (Goldman) Gould, he was a graduate of Great Neck South High School. Mr. Gould had owned a dairy business with Sweet Clover Dairy in Long Island and later retired from Combined Insurance Co., where he had earned numerous sales awards. In addition to being a member at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, he had been an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hicksville, NY. Mr. Gould volunteered at York Lutheran Home, was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Fraternity, and enjoyed woodworking and making items for his family. Steve’s passion revolved around spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Gould is survived by a son, Steven E. Gould of York; two daughters, Stacy E. Gould of York and Rita C. Gould of Red Lion; eight grandchildren, Marquette, Taylor, Brock, Amin, Brett, Cian, Maya, and Quin; and a sister, Bonnie Gould Rosen of Iowa. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Millman; and his in-laws, Earl and Rita Snyder. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September10, 2013 at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2164 Mt. Zion Rd., York with her pastor, Rev. Brian A. McClinton officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Monday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 10-11:00 AM Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Hwy., Carlisle, PA 17013. Memorial contributions may be made to York Cancer Patient Help Fund, York Health Foundation, 50 N. Duke St., 2nd Fl., York, PA 17401 or to American Heart Assoc., 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
