YORK - Steven F. Eckert, 69, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Pamela R. (Blessing) Eckert. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The Reverend Stephen D. Rambler will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Mr. Eckert was born in Harrisburg on April 27, 1946, the son of the late Frederick W. and Anna (Blocher) Eckert. He was the owner and operator of Steve Eckert Auto Sales in York for 47 years before his retirement. Steven attended York Suburban High School and was a member of the National Street Rod Association. He had a passion for cars. He started at a young age working on cars at his father’s garage. He enjoyed NASCAR, and never missed watching a race. He also enjoyed attending many car shows. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Along with his wife, Pam, Steven leaves three step sons, Samuel Dick of York, John Allison of Philadelphia, and Antonio Mendez of York; a step grandson, Carson Harr of Dallastown; a brother, Richard Eckert of Ellicot City, MD; and a sister, Suzanne “Sue” Eckert of York. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dave and Doug Eckert. Memorial Contributions may be made to Heritage Pentecostal Cathedral, 813 E. Market Street, York, PA 17403.
