YORK- Steven A. Heffner, 69, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia “Pat” L. (Conley) Heffner. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Sister Joy Hovis officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, New Bridgeville. Born on September 2, 1952 in York, he was a son of Betty (Taylor) Heffner of Brogue and the late Jack Heffner. He attended and completed a three-year study program at the York Academy of Art under the instruction of William Falkler. A farm boy, Steven grew up in the River Hills of Southern York County and in the Pine Creek Gorge of Lycoming County. Steven’s art style can best be defined as boldly traditional impressionism reaching into the light, grounded in the good earth. In addition to his passion for art, he and his wife, Patricia, owned and operated a toy train business, B&E Junction Electric Trains located in downtown York. He also had an interest in military items, especially 1941 Jeeps. Not only was Steven an artist and business-owner, he has operated his own construction company. He has been a model-maker, a furniture designer, a machinist, a preparator, a carpenter, a welder, an accomplished illustrator and graphic designer. Previously, Steven was the director of The Commerce Fine Art Studio and was the director of Studio 323 in downtown York. Along with his wife, Patricia, Steven is survived by two brothers, Scott Heffner and his wife, Jeannie of Brogue and Dave Heffner and his wife, Sherryl of Wrightsville; and sister, Lori Heffner and her husband, Kent of Brogue.
