RED LION - Sterling E. Stine, 94, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Manor Care - Dallastown. He was the husband of the late Thelma [Warner] Stine. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 First Avenue, Red Lion with his pastor, the Rev. Paul C. Murphy officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 PM Sunday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and a visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Monday at the Church. Burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery. Born April 20, 1913 in Red Lion, a son of the late Franklin E. and Ada [Landis] Stine, he began his career as a mechanic with Warner's Dairy and then became a partner in Kehr and Stine Gulf Service station for 10 years. He later retired after 27 years as owner of Stine's Custom Woodwork. Mr. Stine was a member of St. Paul's U.M. Church; Red Lion Lions Club; Red Lion Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 1592; Red Lion Historical Society; Izaak Walton League; and had been a member of the former Red Lion Country Club. His Masonic affiliations include, Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge 649; Red Lion Scottish Rite; Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple; and the York Co. Shrine Club. He was also the first man in Red Lion to earn his private pilots license. Mr. Stine is survived by two daughters, Gail N. Craley of Windsor and Josie L. and husband David Miller of Dallastown; four grandchildren, Kim and wife Cindy Craley, Joe and wife Renee Miller, Adam and wife Jennifer Miller, and Ginger Miller; six great grandchildren, Paul Craley, Jessica Hess, Travis and Cain Adamson, and Addison and Rowan Miller; and three great great grandchildren, Cadin and Seth Craley, and Mackenzie Hess; and Sterling's friends forever, Ruth and Donald Warner. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tracy Slenker; a sister, Adelia P. Ludwig; and a brother, Richard E. Stine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's U. M.
