York Sterling E. Keeney, 66, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Jean (Spangler) Keeney. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on June 18th. Viewings will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road in York, and from 11:00 to Noon Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, 400 Stillmeadow Lane in York. Funeral Service will immediately follow at Noon at the church, with his pastor, Dr. Bayse "Bud" H. Reedy officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover. Mr. Keeney was born in York County August 20, 1940. He was the son of the late Howard M. and Emma (Cornbower) Keeney. Mr. Keeney was employed at P.H. Gladfelter for many years, and then retired from the maintenance department at Caterpillar in 1998 after 25 years of service. Sterling was a member of Stillmeadow church of the Nazarene. He was also a member of East Prospect Fish & Game Association. Mr. Keeney was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and four-wheeling on his ATV. Sterling loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Jean, he also leaves a son, John H. Keeney and wife Kimberly of York, two daughters; Kim Loucks and husband Dave of Red Lion, and Connie M. Kunkle and husband Michael of York, five grandchildren; Louis Loucks and wife Leah of York, Jessica Keeney and fianc矂rad Zerfing both of York, Mitchell Loucks of Red Lion, Courtney Mullen of York, and Trey Kunkle of York, one great granddaughter, Kaydence Loucks of York, three brothers; Raymond Keeney of Abbottstown, Dean Keeney of Spring Grove, and Donald Keeney of East Berlin, eight sisters; Delores Lillich of Abbottstown, Darlene Arnold of Dover, Frances Nace of Spring Grove, Vergie Maus of Chambersburg, Virginia Maus of Hanover, Donna Poist of New Oxford, Karen Rodgers of East Berlin, and Sharon Van Pelt of Spring Lake, NC, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Keeney, who passed away in 1997. Memorial contributions may be made to Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 400 Stillmeadow Lane, York, PA 17404.
