WILLIAMSPORT - Stephen T. Carter, 63, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was the loving husband of Marilyn M. (Fairfax) Carter to who he married on June 30, 1962 and celebrated 45 years of marriage. Stephen was born on September 26, 1944 in Kennett Square, PA and was a son of the late Wise and Hazel M. (Brock) Carter Jr.. He was a graduate of the Williamsport Technical Institute and had retired from Verizon after 30 years. He was also a security guard for Textron Lycoming from 2006 to 2008. Stephen was a member of the Maple Street AME Zion Church in Williamsport, a former Elks member, was a member of 2 Golf Leagues, Telephone Pioneers, CWA Local 13000 and had coached for the Maynard League, team of "Sears" aka Red Machine. In addition to his wife, Marilyn, he is survived by two sons; Craig A. Carter of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kevin M. Carter of Harrisburg, one daughter; Cynthia Y. Chandler of Willow Grove, PA, four grandchildren; Erica Chandler, Matthew Rosado, Tamika Chandler and Tatiyana Carter, and one brother; Russell Carter of Philadelphia, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Garrick Carter. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport with the Presiding Elder Reverend Leslie E. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday.
