RED LION- Stephen L. Danley, 61, lost his battle with cancer, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Holly L. (McCoy) Danley, to whom he was married 41 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 8 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM prior to the service. Born September 19, 1955 in York, Stephen was a son of Janet L. (Becker) Danley and the late Luther S. Danley, Jr. He was owner and operator as a truck driver for 35 years. He also helped out at the family business, the Lion’s Den in Red Lion until 2005. Mr. Danley was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. He loved riding motorcycles and in September of 2016 a benefit ride was held for him at the Tourist Inn in York. Stephen was a loving husband, son and brother who always put his family first. He was a generous man who looked out for everyone and will be greatly missed. In addition to his wife, Mr. Danley is survived by a brother, Craig Danley and his wife Toni of Windsor; two sisters, his twin, Stephanie Eismann and her husband Bobby of Nottinham, PA, and Kathy Holes of Red Lion; two sisters-in-law, Jayne Powers and her husband Charlie of Red Lion, and Dee Lake and her husband Dean of Red Lion; two nephews, Ryan and Charlie, Jr.; two nieces, Theresa and Charlene; many other beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and his beloved cat, Charlie. The family would like to offer a special thanks to homecare nurse Lori Weigle; the 7th floor oncology at York Hospital, specifically his nurses Pam, Lois, Kristen, and Sabaya “Bean”; Cancer Care Associates of York, specifically Dr. Dan, Dr. Bonaventura, Dr. Shokek, and Dr. Jeff Rowan, and his friends that supported him through his journey, Jeff and Carrie, Gary and Sally, Shawn and Kris, and Ray and Zona. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Care Associates of York, 25 Monument Rd., York, PA 17403 or to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
