Stephen J. 'Steve' Hancock

WILLIAMSPORT - Stephen J. “Steve” Hancock, 54 died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at his residence. He was born on September 26, 1958 in Berwick, the son of John G. and Donna J. (Knorr) Hancock. Steve was a graduate of Williamsport High School and received a bachelor’s degree in art from Lycoming College. After college Steve went on to become a puppeteer for more than 30 years, working for Benington Puppets and Tanglewood Marionettes. He enjoyed drawing, painting, making costumes, Mardi Gras masks, music, reading and most of all anything that pertained to art in general. In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by one brother and sister-in-law; Brian P. Hancock and Virginia Kopkash of Tuckerton, NJ, one sister and brother-in-law; Karen L. and James Grentz of Williamsport, two nephews; John and Keith Grentz, three nieces; Jessica Grentz, Lindsey and Heather Hancock. Steve was preceded in death by a baby sister; Leighann. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport.
