Stephanie Marie "Steff" Ludwig

YORK- Stephanie Marie “Steff” (Smith) Ludwig, 69, of West Manchester Township, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at York Hospital.

A time of gathering and a celebration of Steff’s life will be held from 1:00-4:00pm, August 17, 2024, at Wyndham Garden York, 2000 Loucks Road, York, PA 17408. Burial will be private in Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Steff was born in York on March 30, 1955, the daughter of the late Robert and Jacqueline (Davis) Smith. She was hired by the government following high school and retired from the State of Pennsylvania after 41 years of service.

Steff was a 1973 graduate of West York Senior High School. She was a member of Viking Athletic Club. She was an avid golfer, playing in leagues at Briarwood and Grandview golf courses. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, was an avid reader, enjoyed movies and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Steff leaves a son, Brian Joseph of Chagrin Falls, OH; a daughter, Kristy J. Beshore of Cornelius, NC; four grandchildren, Penelope and Amorette Joseph and Olivia and Aven Beshore; a brother, Ronald F. Smith and his wife, Dalia of Falls Church, VA; and her childhood best friend, Sue Kinneman. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve and Jeff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of choice.
