Lock Haven - Stephanie C. (Smith) Powell, age 44, of Flemington, died at Williamsport Hospital on Friday, July 20, 2007. She was born in Lock Haven on Oct. 27, 1962, daughter of William C. Smith of Mill Hall and Patricia (Cycak) Baney of Flemington. She was preceded in death by her stepfather: Arthur "Tony" D. Baney. Stephanie worked as a Team Lead for the Liberty Business Information Co., was an active member of Nar-A-Non , was active in the Advocates for a Drug Free Tomorrow Program, and the Flemington Hi-Neighbor Committee. She formerly worked at the Lock Haven Express, taught "Color Guard" procedures for several years, and was an avid Penn State supporter. She enjoyed lounging in the pool, loved her pets, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she had a personality that made all those she met feel "special." Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Scott P. Powell whom she married on Dec. 15, 2001, her daughter: Jenn N. Smith at home, and a brother: Bill F. (Sharon) Smith of Flemington. Also surviving are her half brother: Mike "Chum" (Christine) Smith of Castanea, half sister: JoAnn Smith of Sinnemahoning, and two step brothers; Danny and Todd Baney. Funeral services will be held at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2007 with Pastor Russel Moldovan officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m Tuesday. Private family interment will take place in Dunnstown Cemetery at the family's convenience.
