WILKES-BARRE-Stanley P. Dalkiewicz, 84, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday evening at Riverview Manor, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Luzerne on May 14, 1929, he was a son of the late Leo and Marie (Sokoloski) Dalkiewicz. He was a graduate of Luzerne High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Andrews Parish, Wilkes-Barre. In 1993, Stanley retired from Penn Refrigeration where he was a sheet metal molder. He was previously employed as a manager at American Auto. He was a wonderful woodworker and attended craft workshops. He loved animals, especially his dog, Sandy. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Dalkiewicz. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, the former Marion G. Joseph; sons Charles Carey of Wilkes-Barre and James Carey and his wife, Jolene of Allentown; daughters Jill Jiunta of Lehman and Betsy Carey of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Collin and Jordon Jiunta, Ian, Gavin and Aiden Carey and Heather Shamanski; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Andrews Parish of St. Patrick’s Church; 316 Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend James McGahagan will officiate. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to go directly to the church. Interment will be private in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hanover Township. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrews Parish, 316 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702
