Stanley Duce

WILKES-BARRE-Stanley Duce, 82, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 at Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre. Born July 26, 1927 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Freletchrio and Cecelia Duce. Stanley married his late wife, Louise Walker Duce on Dec. 4, 1992. Prior to retiring in 1983, he was employed by CertainTeed, Mountain Top for 25 years and was an honored lifetime member of the Twenty-Five Year Club for his dedication and faithful service to the company and other employees. In 1986, Stanley completed a basic fire fighting techniques course at the PP&L Fire Training School. For the last 9 years, Stanley also worked as a greeter for Wal-Mart in Wilkes-Barre Township where he achieved an award for 5 years of dedicated service and was well liked by fellow employees. He also enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Walker Duce, in 1999. Stanley is survived by daughters Patricia Harris-King, Cecelia Duce-Leigh, and Alex Fauntleroy; grandchildren, Teneca Harris, Jasmen Gaines, Sybil Harris, Sabrina Scuorzo, Percell Wilson, Marcus Bradley, and Seth Decker; great-grandchildren, Aumeer Mims, Nalasjia Johnson, Allycia Harris, Isaiah Mims, Zyrae Watt, Patricia Mims, Elijah Wilson-Harris, and Symone Zion Mims, all of Wilkes-Barre. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 105 Hill Street, Wilkes-Barre with the Reverend Michael Brewster officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Saturday morning from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the church. Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main St. Wilkes-Barre, is in charge of arrangements.
