Red Lion — Stanley A. Hartzell Jr, 80, died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his residence in North Hopewell Township. He was the husband of Mary T. (Seitz) Hartzell. The couple celebrated 56 years of marriage on March 4, 2012. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Monday, June 25, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with his pastor, the Rev. Randy Cullen officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10 AM, Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Cross Roads Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born November 17, 1931 in State College, he was a son of the late Elizabeth B. (Jackson) and Stanley A. Hartzell Sr. He graduated from Red Lion High School with the class of 1949. He was employed as a plasterer for 33 years with William G. and Earl Koller and later with Jesse Saylor until his retirement in 1992. He was a proud United States Marine and served during the Korean War. A member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church, he served as a church trustee and Hershaull Park Director. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed jigsaw and Sudoku puzzles. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hartzell is also survived by one son, Gregory A. Hartzell and wife, Kathy of Wrightsville; two grandchildren, Timothy J. and Lisa A. Hartzell; two sisters, Joan M. Hollon of Salem, IL and Virginia Hartzell of Belleville, IL and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ella B. and Barbara E. Hartzell and infant Mary E. Hartzell; two brothers, Glenn C. and Paul C. Hartzell. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, Pa 17603.
