Stan Carl Saxton

TROY- Stan Carl Saxton passed away January 3, 2012 at the age of 70, following a brief illness. Stan was born on March 4, 1941, was a lifetime resident of Granville Summit, PA. He operated a dairy farm, faithfully served the Granville Center Church of Christ and most recently held a position as Granville Center Township Supervisor. He found endless enjoyment hunting, watching his children’s, nephew’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and compiling family and local history. Stan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kay (Kennedy) Saxton as well as his children, Rebecca (Gary) Polly, Henry (Lori) Saxton, Emilie (John) Ormond, Martha (Craig) Havens; his special nephew Stephen (Sue) Saxton, his grandchildren, Melissa (Wayne) Welshans, Tabatha Saxton, Patrick, John Henry and Benjamin Ormond, Lucas and Isaac Havens. He is also survived by his siblings Kathryn (Art) Wunder, Lenora (Melvin) Woodard, sisters-in-law, Ada Mae Saxton, Barbara (Clarence) Stone, brother-in-law, Harold (Kathy) Kennedy, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Lillian (Hager) Saxton and brother Wayne Saxton. Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Granville Center Church of Christ with Pastor Will Strunk officiating Interment will follow in Granville Center Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call from 11 AM to 1PM. Donations in memory of Stan may be made to the Granville Center Church of Christ, c/o Deb Carle 19321 Route 414, Monroeton, PA 18832.
