Sonja M. Haussmann

RED LION- Sonja M. (Leinm� Haussmann, 78, died Monday, December 17, 2007 after a long battle with cancer, in the care of Country Meadows Assisted Living. She was the wife of the late Walter K. Haussmann. A viewing will be from 7-9pm Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion, PA. An additional viewing will be from 6-9pm Thursday, December 20, 2007 at David J. Hodder & Son Funeral Home, 899 McLean Ave., Yonkers, NY. A funeral service will be 10am Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Hodder Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, NY. Mrs. Haussmann was born in Stuttgart, Germany on May 3, 1929, a daughter of the late August and Anna (Widig) Leinm� She married Walter Haussmann on December 2, 1950. Mrs. Haussmann was educated as a seamstress and made her own wedding dress. She was a member of the German American Society of Westchester, the American Turners of NY, the Steuben Society and the Catholic Kolping Society, NY. Mrs. Haussman volunteered for 16 years at the Wartburg Adult Care Community. She belonged to the Red Lion Senior Center and enjoyed playing bingo at Equine Meadows. She will be missed by her coffee klatch. Surviving are her two daughters, Susan L. and her husband, Eugene Keller of Gastonia, NC and Judy A. and her husband, Chris Hiester of Red Lion, PA; six grandchildren, Eric, Kristopher, Jennifer, Sydney, Evan, and Derrick; 3 great grandchildren, Kaden, Jordan, and Jesse; and many friends, old and new. Memorial contributions may be made to Wartburg Adult Care Community, 1 Wartburg Place, Mount Vernon, NY 10552. The family would like to thank the hospice nurses with Compassionate Care for their dedication and constant care.
