Thelma L. Smith Thelma L. Smith, 80 of Pottsville died Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter. Born August 13, 1927 in Cressona, PA the daughter of the late John and Edna (Bartolet) Leininger. She graduated from Cressona High School. Mrs. Smith worked in the textile industry as a seamstress. Mrs. Smith was a protestant. Her husband John G. Smith a former Pottsville Republican & Herald employee, and three sisters Anna and Jean Leininger, and June Brown, a brother John Brown precedes Mrs. Smith in death. Surviving is two daughters Cythia "Cindy" wife William Van Stone, Pottsville; Beverly, wife of Michael Buglia, Newport, PA; five grandchildren, William F., husband of Mabel Van Stone, Palmyra, N.J.; Michael and Michelle Van Stone, both of Pottsville; Michael Buglia, Jr., Collegeville, PA and Melissa, wife of Steve Zeiders, Newport, PA two great-grandchildren, Erin and Darin Zeiders, Newport, PA and a brother Harry husband of Ruth Leininger, Haden, N.J. a sister Ruth Waldman, West reading, PA several nieces and nephews Religious services will be conducted on Saturday, September 15, 2007, at 1:30 P.M. at the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., the Rev Al Heger officiating. Interment will be at the Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville, PA. The family would prefer remembrances to be made to the First Baptist Church, 701 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, PA 17901.
