Sidney D. Herr

Yoe—Sidney D. Herr, 82, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at his residence in Yoe. He was the husband of the late Willadean E. (Senft) Herr. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with his pastor, the Rev. James Driskell officiating. A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM, Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Mount Rose Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born April 24, 1933 in York, he was a son of the late Ira K. and Marion L. (Kleffman) Herr. He was a 1953 graduate of York High School. He was employed with York Blue Print Company Incorporated as a print operator for 40 plus years until his retirement in 1995. A United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was also a member of First St. John’s Lutheran Church in York, Prince Athletic Assoc., Vigilant Social Club, American Legion-Rockhill Furnace, V.F.W. – Mt. Wolf and Senior Life in East York. Mr. Herr is survived by one son, Steven D. Herr of Yoe; two daughters, Cynthia E. Armitage and her husband, Doug of York and Cathy L. Herr and her companion, Mark Pennewill of Yoe; three grandsons, Brian M. Rohrbaugh and his wife, Tasha of Dallastown and Cory R. and Jamie C. Rohrbaugh both of Etters; two great grandsons, Camden I. and Talon K. Rohrbaugh; and one brother, Ira M. Herr. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James A. and Roger E. Herr.
