Shirley S. (Sinclair) Carbaugh

Glen Rock—Shirley S. (Sinclair) Carbaugh, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at her residence in Shrewsbury Township. She was the wife of William R. “Bill” Carbaugh to whom she was married for 58 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11AM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church, 473 Plank Rd, New Freedom with her pastor, the Rev. Jeff Slemp, Jr., officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11AM, Saturday at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born November 15, 1935 in Leechburg, she was a daughter of the late Clinton D. and Nora A. (Wagner) Sinclair. She was employed as a bank teller with Mellon Bank for 20 plus years until her retirement in 1995. A member of Grace United Methodist Church in New Freedom, she was active in all aspects of the church, including the choir, women’s group and church gardens. She was an avid gardener, quilter and enjoyed crafts, traveling and fishing. Together with her husband, they built their own houseboat and spent countless days enjoying it at Raystown Lake. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carbaugh is also survived by one son, Shawn W. Carbaugh of Glen Rock; two daughters, Wenona N. Troyer and Dawn A. Carbaugh, both of Sahuarita, AZ; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael J. and Gerald D. Sinclair. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 473 Plank Rd, New Freedom, Pa 17349.
