Shirley J. (Hoffman) Watkins

LOCK HAVEN - Shirley J. (Hoffman) Watkins, 72, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at Manor Care, Jersey Shore where she resided for the past week. She was born March 24, 1942 in Rauchtown a daughter of the late Joseph and June (Holmes) Hoffman. Shirley was married on July 2, 1962 to Dave Watkins, Jr. who survives. They celebrated 52 years of marriage together. She worked for Champion and retired from Lock Haven Hospital where she worked in housekeeping. She enjoyed playing cards with her family going to bingo, crocheting and just recently mastered Facebook. Surviving are her loving husband, six sons David (Phoebe) Watkins, III of Lock Haven, Joseph E. (Debra) Watkins of Rauchtown, Roy E. (Amy) Watkins and Raymond W. Watkins both of Lock Haven, Samuel D. (Dee) Watkins of Roaring Branch and William A. Watkins and a daughter Mary J. (Terry) Johnson both of Georgetown, SC. Twenty-three grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Two brothers Larry Hoffman of McElhattan and Lee Hoffman of Texas. She was preceded in death by two brothers Jerry and Leroy, two sisters Beverly Hoffman and Jean Watkins and a grandson Roy “Bubby” Jr. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Lay Speaker Annette Watkins officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from 9:30 – 11:00. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
