Shirley E. Skeen

POTTSVILLE- Shirley E. Skeen, 82, of Pottsville, passed away at her residence on Monday. Born in Pottsville on December 11, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Helen Reber Barton. She was a1946 graduate of Pottsville High School. Shirley was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. She enjoyed embroidery and loved her cat. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abner Skeen, who passed away in 1998; her daughter, Abby Ellen Skeen; her brother, Jack Barton. Shirley is surivied by her three daughters, Linda Ginther, wife of Edward, of Pottsville, Robin Lechleitner, of Port Carbon, and Kalene Reading, wife of Antonio Amendola, of Massilon, OH; her son, Renell “Butch” Skeen, of Louisiana; her seven grandchildren, Josh Reading, Karlie Russo, Ed Ginther, Tammy Kramer, Earl “Slugger” Lechleitner, Jocelyn and Nicole Skeen; her 6 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 A.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Streets, Pottsville. Reverend Harold Hand will officiate.
