Shirley Diane (Colvin) Peterson

YORK- Shirley D. (Colvin) Peterson, 87, on Friday October 29, 2021 She joined her husband Sam’s side as they were in life, 60 years of marriage, always together. United now with their daughter, Diane and son, Eugene. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, 4316 Delta Rd., Airville with Pastor Beth Appel officiating. A viewing will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Pine Grove Presbyterian Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, Pa is in charge of arrangements. Born on August 27, 1934 in Delta, she was the daughter of the late Clair Robert Colvin and Margaret Lee Snyder. Shirley was a homemaker. Shirley enjoyed square dancing for many years with her husband. She had a love for country music, attending the Dover Fair for over 40 years together, just to listen to the country music. She also enjoyed bingo and crafts. Shirley’s golden years were lived out at Country Meadows where she was treated with love and compassion by staff and residents who became her family. She was known for sitting on her bench and making sure everyone passing by her knew they were loved by handing out candy and hugs. A special thanks to Country Meadows, Hospice and all Staff. Mrs. Peterson is survived by three sons, David Peterson, Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Red Lion, Kevin Peterson and his wife, Donna of Ipswich, England and Jeffery Peterson and his wife, Frani of Dover; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
