Shirley A. Weitkamp

DOVER – Shirley A. (Smallwood) Weitkamp, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at York Hospital. She was the wife of William E. Weitkamp to whom she was married for 37 years. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Thursday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born April 29, 1942 in West York, a daughter of the late James D. Smallwood, Jr. and the late Elizabeth M. (Burg) Salmi, she was a 1960 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mrs. Weitkamp had worked at Goodling Oil and later retired from Shipley Energy after 42 years of service. She was a member of St. Stephen’s UCC and the Ladies Retirees group at Shipley Energy. Shirley was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Five Crowns. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Weitkamp is survived by a son, Brian Harlacker of Etters; two stepsons, Brian Weitkamp of Gettysburg and Michael Weitkamp of Etters; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Newman of York; six grandchildren; a twin brother, Ronald and wife Rhoda Smallwood of Hanover; a sister, Patricia Myers of Dover; three nieces, Stephanie, Lori and Alynne; and two nephews, Stephen and Jon.
