WEST MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP- Shirley A. (Weidemann) Baker, 73, of York, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Howard L. Baker, Jr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Chaplain Wesley S. Mast of Heartland Hospice will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Baker was born in York on May 31, 1936, a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Madeline (Snellbaker) Weidemann. She retired from Pleasant Acres after 8 years of service as a housekeeper. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles both in Westminster, MD. Mrs. Baker leaves two sons, Howard L. Baker, III of Colorado Springs, CO and Dwayne E. Baker of York; two daughters, Deborah A. Musselman of York and Pamela J. Jackson of Thomasville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Stanley G. Weidemann of Canada; and five sisters, Doris L. Stiver of Altoona, Marion G. Perkins, Altoona, Sandra K. Dubbs of York, Wanda L. Burgard of Spring Grove, and Dawn M. Bender of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda L. Schrum. She leaves a dear friend, Roland Ensor. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, American Heart Association or A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's Association).
