Shirley A. (Smith) Zorbaugh-Shaffer

YORK- Shirley A. (Smith) Zorbaugh-Shaffer, 77, passed away Friday, October 03, 2014, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Jim Zorbaugh and the late Ronald J. Shaffer. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, from 7- 8 PM. Born February 15, 1937 in York, Shirley was a daughter of the late Lester Elwood and Cecelia Elizabeth (Eckenrode) Smith. She worked as a risk control assistant at Glatfelter Insurance Group for over 20 years until her retirement in 1999. Shirley was a member of the Heritage Senior Center, and enjoyed traveling, playing cards and Bingo. She loved going to the casino. Shirley had a place at the shore and liked to go fishing and crabbing. Mrs. Shaffer is survived by three sons, Steve Zorbaugh and his wife Susan Emmons of York, David Zorbaugh and his companion Lori Coulson of York and Michael E. Zorbaugh and his wife Brenda of Dallastown; two daughters, Donna Bailey and her husband John of Dover and Sharon M. Eckrote and her husband Allen of Dover; 14 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Smith and his wife Deb of York and Dennis Smith and his wife Sherry of Spring Grove; a sister, Wanda Cohen and her husband Ron of Ocean City, MD; a stepson, Marty Shaffer and his wife Mary and three step daughters, Cathy Henry, Linda Hivley and her husband Morgan and Tammy Duke. She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and a stepson, Mike Shaffer.
