Shirlee S. (Kowalisin) Nealon

MOOSIC-Shirlee S. (Kowalisin) Nealon, 92, of Elm Street, Moosic, died Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Villa, Elmhurst. Born in Moosic on May 9, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Agnes (Skulski) Kowalisin. She was a 1933 graduate of Moosic High School. Mrs. Nealon was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca, where she was a member of St. Cecelia's Choir, the church Liturgical Committee and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Avoca Senior Citizens. She retired from Commercial Credit in Baltimore, where she was the office manager. Her husband, James B. Nealon, died in 1966. Sisters Pauline, Mary and Catherine also preceded her in death. She is survived by two great nieces, Betty Ann Attilio of Bethlehem and Sandra Hawxhurst of Wethersfield, CT. The funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 728 Main St., Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Church, Main St., Avoca. The Reverend Mark Bochinski will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Moosic. Friends may call Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
