YORK- Sheryl E. (Flinchbaugh) Mangold, 64, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Richard E. Mangold to whom she shared 21 years of marriage. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, with her pastor the Rev. James E. Vanzandt officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Stony Brook Mennonite Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Mangold was born on July 26, 1944 in York to the late Leroy J. and Lillian G. (Lehr) Flinchbaugh. She worked several years as an office assistant for Dr. Barlow, one of the founders of Memorial Hospital, then went on to be a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Mangold enjoyed cooking, baking, and working in her flower gardens. She loved spending time with her family at the beach in Lewes. DE. Mrs. Mangold is survived by two sons, Marc Sprenkle of York and Bradly Sprenkle of Windsor; two daughters, Marcy Sprenkle of York and Amy Forsythe of York; five grandchildren, Jordan and Tyler Fahringer, Emily, Samantha Jo, and Kyle Sprenkle; and a sister Marjorie Coughlin of York. Memorial Contributions may be made to Palliative Care and Bereavement Services, 2449 S. George St., York, PA 17403 or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2449 S. Queen St., York, PA 17402.
