YORK- Sherwood "Woody" D. Dehoff, 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of Janice M (Brown) Dehoff. The couple celebrated their 43rd wedding aniversary on August 1, 2008 A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. A viewing will be from 9:30- 11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. A private burial service will be held for the family in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Sherwood was born in Loganville May 29, 1944, a son of the late Emory C. and Melba M. (Keeny) Dehoff. He retired from Caterpillar after 30 years. In addition to his loving wife, Sherwood leaves, two sons: Garth Dehoff and his wife Yvonne of Windsor and Troy Dehoff and wife Lanette of Dallastown; four grandchildren, Connor, Brayden, Collin, and Kaitlyn; a brother, Galen and wife Bernadine of Dover; five sisters, Phyllis Eyster and her husband Martin, Judy Guise and her husband Larry, Karen Renn and her husband Charles all of York, Cathy Strine and her husband Luther of Dover, Pattie Miller and her husband Kiehl of New Cumberland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sherwood was a lifetime member of Rescue Fire Co. #1 Dallastown serving as president from 1976-1984. He also held memberships in Yankee Athletic Assn., the Red Lion Elks Club, and Vikings Club of York. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed cooking, and going to the mountains with his friends and spending time with family. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N.
