Sheridan B. Whip" Alpaugh

ABBOTTSTOWN- Sheridan B. "Whip" Alpaugh, 73, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was the husband to Royleen M. (Minor) Alpaugh to whom he shared their 53rd wedding anniversary on March 19, 2009. A celebration of life service will be held at 8PM Monday, June 29, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with Pastor Richard B. Starr officiating. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral chapel. Mr. Alpaugh was born on March 16, 1936 in Pottersville, NJ to the late Charles B. and Lena (Alpaugh) Alpaugh. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working around the house. He loved Nascar racing and detailing his cars. He was a Korean War veteran having served on the 82nd Airborne. Mr. Alpaugh is survived by a son, S. Lee Alpaugh of Abbottstown; a daughter, Deborah F. and her husband Richard Druck of Hanover; four grandchildren, William H. Shelley of York, Todd M. Shelley of York, Ryan A. Renfro of Hanover, and Kayla N. Alpaugh of Abbottstown; one great grandson, Trent R. Shelley of York; and a sister, Dale L. Crowley of Clinton, NJ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond I. Alpaugh. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Memorial and Honor Program, 3544 N.
