She grew up in the town of Yoe where she spent many wonderful years with a lot of time on her grandparents’ farm as a young girl. She was able to experience and work alongside WWII prisoners which would be brought each day to the farm to help harvest the crops. She was a 1957 graduate of Dallastown High School. She served in the US Air Force and after being honorably discharged she went to beautician school in Vallejo, CA. She then worked in CA and later PA as a beautician. Moving back to Pennsylvania, she worked at Gichner Shelter Systems in Dallastown for 19 years and in 2008, began working at Lion Pharmacy in Red Lion until she passed. She loved the outdoors, horseback riding, spending time in the flower beds, camping with the grandchildren and going to their sporting events, Disney World, and adventures to the beach. She was an avid Orioles fan and loved going to Camden Yards and enjoyed quiet time with her sweet companion “Angel”, the family Calico cat. She enjoyed relaxing by the fish pond amongst the flowers, in the back yard gazebo many times with family and friends, learning and sharing God’s word, enjoying sunrises and sunsets. Both she and her husband Bob were active square dancers and served as president of the White Rose Squares. Sheila is a member of Gateway Church International in York, where she was involved with the prayer shawl ministry as well as prayer and children’s ministry. Her greatest joy was sharing her faith with everyone who would listen and coming to know whatever age you are, how God is willing to change your life for the better.
