Sheila Jean (Bumbaugh) Miller

YORK- Sheila Jean (Bumbaugh) Miller, 62, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Melvin E. Bud Miller, Jr., who passed away on June 13, 2009. The couple wed on May 7, 1980. They had been married for over 29 years. A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Reverend Richard B. Starr officiating. A viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Mrs. Miller was born on September 27, 1948 in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Charles W. and Ethel M. (Golden) Bumbaugh, Sr. Sheila worked for York Casket Co. and later for Reliance Bus Co. Mrs. Miller attended Pond Bank Mennonite Church. Mrs. Miller was a big supporter of the SPCA and the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed working outdoors, reading and animals of all kinds. Most importantly, Sheila enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Miller is survived by a son, Brian Boyer of Manchester; two stepsons, Tim Miller of York and Larry Miller of Centerville; a daughter, Melody Hoffman and her husband, Chris of York; a stepdaughter, Sue and her husband, Barry of York; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Bumbaugh Jr. of Chambersburg; three sisters, Phyllis Thompson and her husband, Jerry of Chambersburg, Beverly Daley and her husband, Tom of Greencastle and Robin Forrester and her husband, James of Chambersburg; one uncle, Ronnie Martin; two aunts, Mary Bollinger and Norma Martin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ricky L. Bumbaugh, Randy A. Bumbaugh and Daniel Tony Bumbaugh.
