York—Sharon Kay (Pflueger) Loy, 75, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late David H. Loy to whom she was married for 38 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11AM, Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York with her pastor, the Rev. Keith C. Fair officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-8PM, Thursday, April 19th at the church. Burial will be private at St. Paul’s (Wolf’s) Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born January 23, 1943 in Ft. Wayne, IN, she was a daughter the late Louis C. and Velma (Hegerfeld) Pflueger. She was a loving and dedicated daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. After graduating high school, Sharon was employed as a graphic designer. She also worked as a realtor for many years in York. A member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York, Sharon was a volunteer for the Lutheran Assistant Ministry and member of the Garden Club of York. Over the years, Sharon also volunteered much of her time to the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball in York. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, was a talented artist and decorator, and loved crafts and collecting antiques. Mrs. Loy is survived by a daughter, Sarah Loy Yeager and husband, Richard of Phoenixville; one son, Joshua C. Loy and wife, Nicole of Sykesville, MD; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Chalmers, Rennick and Willem; two sisters, Dorothy Riehl of Ontario, Canada and Ina Gaunt of Ft. Wayne, IN, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Krueger. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc., 610 Community Way, Lancaster, Pa 17603.
