YORK- Shantaben Ramanbhai Patel, 96, daughter of the late Shivabhai and Samjuben Amin, died at home Thursday, July 3, 2014. She was the wife of the late Ramanbhai B. Patel, who died in York on March 21, 1994 A viewing will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday July 5, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York.   Shantaben was the daughter-in-law of Mr. Bhailalbhai D. Patel (Bhaikaka - the founder of Sardar Patel University and its University Campus named) Vallabh Vidyanagar in the state of Gujarat, India. In India, Mrs. Patel was an entrepreneur and managed a large joint family where she was loved by every member of the family. Mrs. Patel immigrated to the U.S. in 1974, became a citizen thereafter and has lived in USA ever since.  She was knowledgeable and promoted Naturopathy, Ayurveda and Homeopathy. She was a member of HARI Temple of New Cumberland, PA.   Mrs. Patel is survived by one daughter, Susmita and her husband, Rohit Amin of York; seven grandchildren, Rahul (Pooja), Devanshi (Mehul), Milind (Lina), Jignyasa, Sanjay, Shreyas and Shruti; five great grandchildren, Himani, Rudra, Neev, Raina and Meira; one brother, Ramanbhai S. Amin of Lakeland, FL; one sister, Vinodiniben U. Patel of San Ramon, CA; son in law, Lalitchandra Desai of Knoxville, TN; daughter in law, Tejal Patel of Houston, TX; and sister in law, Subhadraben H. Desai of Vallabh Vidyanagar, India. She was preceded in death by a son, Gautam Patel; and a daughter, Dhruva Desai.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity of your choice in her memory.
