DOVER- Scott Alan Simpson, 61, died on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Sunny LM (Lisa Rinaldi) Simpson. The couple wed on May 1, 2004.
A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. followed by a celebration of life tribute service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with certified celebrant Amy Favorito officiating. The service will be livestreamed around 11 a.m. at HeffnerCare.com on Scott’s obituary page.
Born on May 9, 1963 in Mechanicsburg, he was the son of Thomas J. Simpson (wife Grace) of Boiling Springs and Kathleen (Fritz) Miele (husband James “Jim”) of Punta Gorda, FL.
Scott was a 1981 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. Throughout his life he was an esteemed musician, singer and self-proclaimed comedian. He was a longtime bus driver for Rabbit Transit and was recognized for his dedicated service and much loved by his riders whom he enjoyed entertaining with his antics.
In addition to being an exceptional husband and father, Scott loved being “Scoppy” to his grandkids. He was happiest spending time together with friends and family. Scott enjoyed a good project and was always available to offer advice or lend a hand. He was the life of every party and had the ability to make every person laugh along with him.
Along with his wife, Sunny, Scott is survived by his son, Jacob R. Simpson of Camp Hill; three daughters, Lauren K. Fuhrman and her partner, Joie Wehr of Danville, Stephanie P. Simpson and her husband, Kyle Lane of Dillsburg and Meaghan A. Cole and her husband, Allen of Coal Township; three grandchildren, Lucian J. Lane, Liam J. Lane and Emma P. Lane; brother, Stevie Simpson of Florida; half-brother, Joe Levendsky and his wife, Cheryl of Wellsville; and his fur-family Leonbergers, Frank, Sulley, Vixen and Prancer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Simpson; sister, Julie Simpson; and fur-family members, Gus and Toby.
