Sauveur Andre

YORK—Sauveur Andre, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at York Hospital. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Andre. Born December 15, 1939, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Sauveur was the son of the late Felix Andre and Similia Ovile. Sauveur immigrated to the U.S. from Haiti, where he was an entrepreneur, owning several barbershops in Harlem, NY. Sauveur was known for his charismatic personality, sharp suits, and Haitian pride. Sauveur moved to York, PA after his retirement. In addition to his wife, Sauveur is survived by 10 children, Roosevelt, Moses, Chantal, Salomon, Abraham, Emmanuel, Pierre, Hernante Desmornes, Jean, and Ruth; 27 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as several siblings, nieces, and nephews. A wake will be held from 6:00-8:00PM, Friday, August 20. The viewing will be held from 9:00-10:00AM followed by the funeral from 10:00-11:00AM, Saturday, August 21 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, Pa 17408.
