RED LION- Sara J. (Johnson) Craley, 93, of York Township passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Dale B. Craley. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Her pastor, The Reverend Ronald L. Doverspike will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be private in St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Craley was born in Airville on August 16, 1923, the daughter of the late Wilmer and Anna (Sechrist) Johnson. She worked at Red Lion Cabinet and Bendix Corporation and then retired from Harley Davidson after 21 years in purchasing. Mrs. Craley was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Red Lion, where she was a member of the Four Fold Friends Sunday School for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Lower Chanceford High School. She was a member of Loyal Order of The Moose Women’s Auxiliary and Galleria Gallopers. She volunteered for Leader’s Nursing Home in Dallastown, United Way, and she also volunteered at the church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with her family, and surrounded herself with a large circle of friends. Mrs. Craley leaves two daughters, Pamala C. Grove and her husband Dr. Russell Grove, Jr., and Josie C. Hurlock and her husband William Hurlock, Jr.; a granddaughter, Megan R. Reigel and her husband Chris; four great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, PA 17356 or Forsight Vision, 1380 Spahn Ave., York, PA 17403.
