Sara E. Smeltzer

YORK – Sara E. (Mann) Smeltzer, 95, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Rest Haven. She is together again with her late husband, Ernest R. Smeltzer, to whom she was married for over 70 years. Born on December 15, 1920 in Wrightsville, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Bertha (Fisher) Mann. She retired as a custodian from York Township Elementary after eight years. She was a proud 43 year survivor of cancer, and in her free time loved to go camping with her husband. Mrs. Smeltzer is survived by one son, Todd M. and wife Lisa R. Smeltzer of York; two daughters, Donna R. and husband Harry W. Null of York and Venice, FL, and Vicki L. and husband John M. Shelley of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Kacey, Karleah, Elijah, Bryanee, Jennifer, and Adam; five great granddaughters, Daly, Ameena, Nyla, Ashilynn, and Addilynn; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, Sara was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Smeltzer, Jr.; three brothers, William Mann, David Mann, and Myron Mann; and five sisters, Helen Arnold, Virginia Frey, Doris Nelson, Blanche Rohrbaugh, and Ruby Peters. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
