Sandra Y. (Heffner) Howard

Brogue—Sandra Y. (Heffner) Howard, 70, died Monday, April 11, 2016. She was the wife of James P. Howard, Sr., to whom she was married for 51 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 1674 Furnace Church Rd, Brogue. Officiating the service will be her pastor, Rev. Joshua Beben and Rev. Ken Loyer of Spry United Methodist Church in York. Visitations will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 10-11 AM, Saturday, at the church. Born October 10, 1945 in Lower Windsor Township, she was a daughter of the late Walter F. and Verna (Snyder) Heffner. A dedicated and loving homemaker, she also worked as a secretary for her husband’s insurance company. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Brogue and Order of the Eastern Star. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and gardening. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Howard is also survived by one son, James P. Howard, Jr., and his wife, Melissa of Felton; two daughters, Lori H. Baker of York and Amy H. Thompson of Pottstown; seven grandchildren, Joshua and Connor Baker, Luke and Samuel Howard and Caroline, Olivia and Grace Thompson; one brother, Larry Heffner of Red Lion; three sisters, Ruth Grove and Rose Miller both of Red Lion and Brenda Gohn of Brogue and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Donald Heffner, Shirley Eaton and Betty Haugh and a son-in-law, Steven Baker.
