Sandra L. Testa

PLAINS TOWNSHIP-Sandra L. (Nelson) Testa, 62, formerly of Lehigh Street, Avoca, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Timber Ridge Nursing Home, Plains Township. Born on July 21, 1948, in Duryea, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Nellie (Hall) Nelson. Sandra graduated from Pittston High School and was a member of St. John's Primitive Methodist Church. She worked at Topps, Duryea for over 13 years. Sandra was an avid softball fan and loved to coach the Avoca girls softball team, where she managed to lead them to several championships. She was also a dedicated Brownie leader. Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband, Charles J. Jr. Testa, Dalton, PA; son, Charles J. Testa III, Port Griffith, PA; daughter, Heather Lynn Testa-Wood and husband, Timothy, Dalton, PA; granddaughter, Gabrielle Wood, Dalton, PA; brother, Jacob Nelson, Pittston; sisters, Sally May, South Canaan, PA, Mildred Fitch, Daleville, PA, Mary Marraca, Pittston, Donna Portanova, Dunmore; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also proceeded in death by a brother, Robert Nelson. Sandra will be truly missed by her loving children and granddaughter. The funeral service will be held Friday, at 10:00 am from Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc. 728 Main Street, Avoca. The Reverend Rick Rock will be officiating. Interment will follow at Marcy Cemetery, Duryea. Friends and family may call Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home
