Sandra L. (Sheffer) Dubbs

York—Sandra L. (Sheffer) Dubbs, 72, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at her residence in Springettsbury Township. She was the wife of Philip Dubbs to whom she was married for 52 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Pleasureville United Methodist Church, 2606 N. Sherman St., York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Frank Miller. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., is in charge of arrangements. Born December 4, 1942 in York, she was the daughter of the late Elmer E. and Madell P. (Zech) Sheffer. She was a loving wife and mother. As a foster parent for 37 years with both the Children’s Home of York and York County Children in Youth Services, she welcomed more than 700 children into her home. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dubbs is also survived by three sons, David A. Dubbs and his wife, Wendi of Wrightsville, Aaron T. Dubbs of Dover and Pvt.Tyler A. Dubbs, stationed with the Army National Guard in Ft. Jackson, SC; three daughters, Stachia L. Crall and her husband, of Dover, Donna E. Stevens and her husband, Michael of Pittsburgh and Brooke A. Dubbs at home; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Gerald and Richard Sheffer both of York and Edward Sheffer; three sisters, Connie Arnold of Wrightsville, Joan Gillispie of York and Kathy Sheffer of York and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 224 St. Charles Way, York, PA 17403.
