Sandra K. Markle

YORK – Sandra K. (Rebert) Markle, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Charles I. Markle to whom she was married for 61 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with her Pastor, The Rev. Darcy Reis officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM on Tuesday April 10th. Born March 1, 1937 in York, a daughter of the late John C. and Emma J. (Cunningham) Rebert, she was a 1955 graduate of West York High School. She retired in 1986 from York City School District where she was a teacher’s aide and later worked as a custodian. Mrs. Markle was a member of Saint James Lutheran Church, loved to travel and enjoyed camping at the Delaware beaches. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Markle is survived by a daughter, Kim L. Boyer of York; a son, John C. and wife Debera Markle of York; three grandchildren, Zachary and wife Steph Boyer, Ashley Buhrman and Dustin Boyer and fiancé Sara Gohn; four great grandchildren, Samantha, Chloie, Caleb, Jr. and Cooper; and a brother, John C. Rebert, III of Clermont, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint James Lutheran Church, 25 N.
