Sandra J. (Fry) Gibney

YORK- Sandra J. (Fry) Gibney, 71, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at UPMC Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife and longtime companion of James R. Gibney to whom she shared 40 years with.

At her request a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.

Born on November 10, 1951, in Roundtown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Bear) Fry. Sandy was happily retired from Maple Press in which she was employed for over 40 years.

She loved traveling, trips to Jamacia with her husband, beach trips with the girls, and Disney with the grandkids were amongst her favorites. She enjoyed reading, family gatherings and making new friends. She was a member of the Ninth Ward Republican Club, West York VFW Post 8951 Ladies Auxiliary, Liberty Social Club, Shiloh American Legion Post 791 Ladies Auxiliary and Vigilant Social Club.

Along with her husband, James, Sandy is survived by two daughters, Nicole Rosengrant of Dover and Katina Wagner and her husband, Travis of Dover; four grandchildren, Robert O’Leary, Cody Bell, Kylie Wagner and Bentley Salerno; one great granddaughter Roan O’Leary; sister, Karen Frigm and her husband, John of Spring Grove; brother, Craig Fry of York; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Fix. She was truly special and will be deeply missed by all she left behind.
