Sandra Bechtel

WRIGHTSVILLE- Sandra “Sandee” (Vaught) Bechtel, 66, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond F. “Fred” Bechtel. The couple had celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary upon Fred’s passing on May 15, 2020.

Sandee was born in Wilmington, DE on June 17, 1958, the daughter of the late Bruce Cole and Reba Kate (Stout) Vaught. She retired from Wellspan Oncology in June of 2023, where she was a receptionist.

Sandee was a 1976 graduate of Red Lion High School. She received her Associates Degree in Medical Transcription in 1978 from Thompson Institute. Her life revolved around her beloved family. She cherished making memories with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed vacationing with her late husband, Fred to Jamaica and anywhere tropical. Sandee also loved countless beach trips with her closest girlfriends.

Sandee leaves a daughter, Megan M. Heffner of York and her fiancé, Jon M. Stouch; a son, Kurt M. Heffner of Wrightsville; three bonus grandchildren, Jaden, Ava, and Beckett; two brothers, Terry Vaught and his significant other, Sherri Miller and Michael Vaught and his wife Hedy; as well as nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing and gathering of family and friends from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, in memory of Sandra “Sandee” Bechtel, 2195 Lincoln Highway E., Lancaster, PA 17602.
