DOVER- Sandra A. (Kaltreider) Forbes, 80, of Dover Township, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at her residence. She was the wife of Franklin D. Forbes. The couple celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on September 3, 2021. A celebration of life memorial service will be held Sunday November 21, 2021 at Zion United Methodist Church, 1030 Carlisle Road in York. Visitation will begin at 2:30 pm followed by a service at 3:00 pm. Her pastor, The Reverend Joshua Rhone will be officiating at the service. Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting with the arrangements. Mrs. Forbes was born in Columbia, PA on December 25, 1940, the daughter of the late Raymond and Pauline (Feree) Kaltreider. She retired in 1998 as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at the Dover Family Practice and Margaret Moul Home for 20 years. Mrs. Forbes was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in York for 35 years. She was a 1958 graduate of Eastern York High School where she graduated as valedictorian. She graduated at the top of her class from York Vocational Nursing School. Along with her husband, Mrs. Forbes leaves three daughters, Robin L. Mealer of Clarksville, TN, Tammy A. Barbush (Sam) of Etters, and Julie A. Resh (Timothy) of Roswell, GA; a son, Carey A. Ehly (Annette) of Biglerville; six grandchildren: Jerry Mealer, Brandi Mealer Goodwin (Dave) & Ben Mealer; Arlo Ehly; Samantha Rineer & Addison Resh; five great grandchildren: Aiden Goodwin; William, Halie, Caleb & Lucas Rineer; and a brother, Raymond “Butch” Kaltreider, Jr. (Wanda) of Hallam. A sister, Brenda Freed preceded her in death.
