Samuel V. Young, Sr.

WEST MILTON - Samuel V. Young, Sr., 90, died on Monday, March 24, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Lewis) Young who had died October 2003 and to who he was married to on January 28, 1939. Samuel was born on September 4, 1917 in Potts Grove and was a son of the late John and Bessie (Miller) Young. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII, South Pacific and Okinawa. He was a farmer for many years then was a welder for over 25 years. He had retired from the New Columbia Joist Plant in 1995. Samuel is survived by three sons; Samuel V. Young, Jr. of Sherman Dale, Harry J. Young of Milton and Thomas L. Young of Harrisburg, two daughters; Susan K. Dewald of Lewisburg and Linda J. Musser of New Columbia, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and one sister; Mary Johnson of New Columbia. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2008. The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Reverend David E. King officiating the services. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with military honors.
