Samuel R. Haugh

Sam Haugh was born November 7, 2002, and his life was tragically cut short April 29, 2024.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will take place June 30, 2024 at Roof Park, Pavilion #3, 599 Lewisberry Rd, New Cumberland, PA 17070 at 11:00 AM, with Certified Celebrant Amy Favorito officiating the service. There will be a visitation prior at the pavilion from 10:00-11:00 AM. Sam's service will be live streamed and can be viewed below.

He graduated from Commonwealth Charter Academy and worked at Cargill in Mechanicsburg for 3 years. His coworkers say that he was a good worker and a friend to many. He worked hard at home too, often willing to help with cleaning the house and tasks in the yard. Putting away groceries will never be the same, his categorization system was truly unique.

Sam was a quiet and introspective person. He was a voracious reader, and often wanted to discuss the books he was reading with people he trusted. He could discuss economics or philosophy or history for hours with the right company. Sam was supportive of others, and even walked the entire 13.1 miles of a half marathon to support his parents.

Sam spent time with Chris putting Lego sets together and talking for hours. He preferred to listen to music on the record player and had an eclectic taste. He enjoyed assembling models, and he would get Japanese editions to ensure accuracy. He always enjoyed long walks and being out in nature, despite being the palest person imaginable. Parks were his favorite places to be. Sam enjoyed Sunday evening family dinners, and was an enthusiastic (if somewhat haphazard) cook and board game player. He enjoyed visiting his extended family and trips to Lake Winola. He had a number of interests and hobbies over the years, including making stop action movies with his sister.

Sam is survived by his parents, Martin and Jennifer Haugh, his sister Abigail, and Chris Goss, the brother he never had. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who showed him that they loved him as he was. His life and deeds are precious memories, and will live forever in our hearts.

A life does not have to be long lived for it to have been meaningful. The loss is immeasurable but so is the love left behind.

Donations can be made in Sam’s honor to the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence located at 3605 Vartan Way, Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or www.pcadv.org
