Samuel J. "Spanky" Jackson

Thomasville – Samuel J. “Spanky” Jackson, 73, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at York Hospital. He was the wife of Pamela J. (Baker) Jackson to whom he was married for 45 years.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will take place 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., York, with Pastor Sheri Greene officiating the service. There will be a viewing from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Born January 23, 1952 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late William A. O. and Lily A. (Greenwood) Jackson. For most of his working life, Spanky was a collection officer for the City of York Parking Department. Outside of his hard work, he enjoyed playing music at jam sessions, making snow cones, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

In addition to his wife, Pam, he is survived by three children, Kevin Jackson and his wife Amy of Spring Grove, Lisa Garner and her husband Troy of East York, and Tammy Knaub and her husband Timothy of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Brookelyn Felch, Chance Jackson, Hailey Jackson, Paris Knaub, Wyatt Garner, and Holden Knaub; as well as a brother, Steven Carroll of Seaford, DE. He is preceded in death by many brothers and a sister.
