Samuel J. Chiodo POTTSVILLE-Samuel J. Chiodo, 92 of Pottsville died Tuesday afternoon at the York Terrace Nursing Home, Pottsville were he has been a resident. Mr. Chiodo was born in Pottsville, May 17, 1917, the son of the late Antonio and Rosa Ferrialo Chiodo. He attended Pottsville Schools. Mr. Chiodo was a member of the former Saint Joseph Church, now Saint Patrick Church. He was also a member of the Good Will Hose, Company and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Chiodo is preceded in death by his was Leonora L. Motag, in 1998, three brothers Angelo "Mutz", Anothony, and Carmen Chiodo. Mr. Chiodo was and auto mechanic and owner/operator of Sam Chiodo Auto Repairs of Pottsville. Surviving are three daughters Rosalie, widow of the late Francis Kalyan, Dorothy "Dottie", widow of the late Charles Moran, and Donna Chiodo all of Pottsville, a son Samuel J., Jr. and wife Dale Chiodo, North Wales, PA, 7 grandchildren David, and wife Bonnie Kalyan, Robin, and husband Michael Korrubin, Charles, and wife Lori Moran, Dorothy, and husband Joseph Botto, Melissa, and husband James Chewey, Timothy, and wife Maureen Chiodo, and Keri Chiodo, twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, a brother John Chiodo, a sister Mary Chiodo, both of Pottsville, and a sister-in law Ethel Chiodo, Pottsville, and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Patrick Church, Fourth & Mahantongo Street, Popttsville. There will be no calling hours Friday evening. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. till time of service. There will be no procession from the funeral home to the church Saturday. Interment will be at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions to be made to either Saint Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, PA 17901 or to the SPCA, P.O.
